Rosetta MCP
Server.
Connect Rosetta to Claude, ChatGPT or another compatible MCP client so your assistant can save and retrieve notes, reminders and links on your behalf.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Overview
Rosetta is a personal memory app for capturing and organizing notes, reminders and links. The Rosetta MCP server lets a compatible AI assistant interact with your Rosetta account when you explicitly connect it.
The connector is designed for user-controlled capture and retrieval. For example, you can ask your assistant to save a conversation summary as a note, create a reminder, store a useful link, or search your Rosetta entries.
2. Server URL
Use this URL when an MCP client asks for the Rosetta remote MCP server:
https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcp
Public documentation link:
https://getrosetta.app/mcp/
3. What the MCP server can do
Depending on the tools enabled for your account and the requests you confirm, the Rosetta MCP server may allow an assistant to:
- Create notes, reminders and links in your Rosetta account.
- Search existing entries and return limited results needed for your request.
- Read limited entry information when needed to complete an action.
- Modify, archive, soft-delete or delete certain data when the corresponding tool is enabled and confirmed.
- Use, create, modify or manage categories and tags in your Rosetta account.
Actions that write, archive or delete data affect your Rosetta account. You should review the assistant's proposed action before confirming it.
4. Setup
Before you start
- You need a Rosetta account with MCP access enabled.
- You need an MCP-compatible client, such as Claude with custom connector support.
- Your client must be able to connect to a remote HTTPS MCP server.
Connect from ChatGPT
- Open the Plugin directory in ChatGPT and search for Rosetta. Open Rosetta, connect it and complete the authorization flow.
- After connecting, invoke Rosetta with an @ mention or select it from + > More, then ask ChatGPT to save or search something in Rosetta.
- If Rosetta does not appear in the directory, you may be able to add it manually as a custom MCP app: open Settings > Apps > Advanced settings, enable Developer mode, return to Settings > Apps, choose Create, and use
https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcpas the MCP server URL. - Manual custom-app availability and write actions depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace settings. If Developer mode or Create is not available, use the directory version when it becomes available or connect Rosetta from Claude instead.
Connect from Claude
- Open Settings > Connectors in Claude or Claude Desktop.
- Look for Rosetta in the Connectors section and connect it if it is listed.
- If Rosetta is not listed, click Add custom connector, name it Rosetta and use
https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcpas the remote MCP server URL. - Complete Rosetta authorization, then enable Rosetta from the Search and tools button in a conversation.
Connect from Gemini
- Gemini Spark (eligible US accounts): on the Gemini website, open Settings & help > Connected Apps, add a custom app for Spark and use
https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcpas its MCP server URL. Custom apps for Spark are currently limited by Google to eligible personal accounts in the US and English. - Gemini CLI: add Rosetta as a remote Streamable HTTP server with
gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user Rosetta https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcp. - Run
gemini mcp listto verify the connection. Gemini CLI should open the Rosetta authorization flow automatically when required.
Connect from another MCP client
- Choose the option to add a custom or remote MCP server.
- Use
https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcpas the server URL. - Complete the authentication or authorization flow if prompted.
- Once connected, ask the assistant to use Rosetta for a specific action.
Example prompts
- "Save this conversation summary in Rosetta as a note in the Work category."
- "Create a reminder in Rosetta for tomorrow at 9 AM to call the dentist."
- "Save this link in Rosetta and tag it research."
- "Search Rosetta for notes about my Lisbon trip."

5. Permissions and user control
The assistant can only use Rosetta through the tools exposed by the MCP server and within the permissions granted to your account. If a destructive tool is available, such as deletion, it should be treated as a sensitive action and confirmed carefully.
You can disconnect the MCP server from your assistant client at any time from the client's connector settings. If you need help revoking access or deleting connector-related data, contact Rosetta support.
6. Troubleshooting
The connector does not connect
- Check that the server URL is exactly
https://mcp.getrosetta.app/mcp. - Make sure your assistant client supports remote MCP servers over HTTPS.
- Confirm that your Rosetta account has MCP access enabled.
Authentication fails or loops
- Try disconnecting the connector from your assistant client and adding it again.
- Use the same Rosetta account email that has MCP access enabled.
- If the issue persists, contact support with the time of the attempt and the assistant client you used.
A tool is missing or unavailable
- Some tools may be disabled during beta or limited to specific accounts.
- Tools that modify or delete data may require additional confirmation or may not be enabled for all users.
The assistant saved the wrong content
- Open Rosetta and edit, archive or delete the affected entry.
- When asking the assistant to save content, specify the target type, category and tags clearly.
7. Privacy and data handling
When you use the MCP server, your assistant may send Rosetta the content or instructions needed to perform your request. Rosetta may return limited information such as confirmation messages, entry identifiers, titles, categories, tags or search results.
Rosetta does not sell personal data. Connected assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or other MCP clients are third-party services and may process conversation data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Read the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
